Children Obey!

In case you are wondering what in the world he is singing about... here are the lyrics to "Uncle Mark's Song" also known as Children Obey.

Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right!
Honour your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise.
So that it may go well with you and you will live long on the land.
So that it may go well with you and you will live long on the land.

Out of the blue last week Luke started singing this song in it's entirety. Before he had only said "Children 'bey!" over and over and over. I had no idea he knew all the words. Although, he does get confused and wants to say "honour your mother's day and father's day" sometimes. I guess he's still got Mother's Day on the brain! I've been trying to get a better video but haven't yet. :)

And here's the youtube link in case something is wonky. I've had a really tough time getting this video uploaded. :( But it was too funny to miss.

Two boys

Luke was really enjoying reading his book on Daddy. It was pretty sweet. He's also taken to grabbing Andrew, asking him to lie down with him and then calling me and saying "Two boys!" It makes me laugh. Love this kid!

What happened to my tulips?

Granted, they would have died on their own in another week or two, but seriously! I nearly had a heart attack when I saw them. And I asked the kid if he'd touched the pretty red flowers. His response: "Yeeeeeeeeth." Accompanied by a sweet, sly smile. I managed to take the time to explain that we do not touch those flowers unless Mama says it's okay, without getting upset. That was WAY harder than you'd think. They were such pretty tulips!

Enjoying the out-of-doors

Front porch musings by our happy little guy.

He LOVES to be outside. I (mostly) love to let him be outside. Win/win.

Photos by Luke

I guess this one is pretty self explanatory. I didn't even notice that he had taken these until I was downloading pictures... I knew he'd had the camera, but I was unaware of his photographic prowess.

He'll sleep anywhere...

Luke's never really done the whole fall-asleep-wherever-I-am thing. But then, twice within a few days, he totally did. He's sweet.

Here, he was just leaning on the chair, rocking. All of the sudden I noticed the rocking had stopped and he was asleep with his legs hanging in the air.

And these, he wasn't feeling well so he totally went to his room and brought out his pillow and just took over the floor. It was pretty sweet.

Profile

I love this kid. He has been sick and yucky for five days and I'm hoping the end is in sight. I guess we'll see. :)

This was taken last month after he fell and got a nice big bruise on his cheek. Poor kid. He's a trooper.

A cousin's birthday party

Luke has had a season of birthdays... He thinks "Happy Birthday" is a great song to sing. I think it helped that the string was begun with his own birthday. :) These photos are from a cousin's birthday party in April. Luke had never really gotten into slides much, but he had SO much fun. I need to look for one for him.

He also hadn't ever played in a sand box. That was big fun, too. I definitely found a list of summer toys I would love to have for him.

He LOVED the "swed." He just really had a good time playing with all the outdoor toys. It does a mommy's heart good to see her boy having such a good time. I love that little guy!

Luke likes deviled eggs, too. Surprise, surprise.

Welcome to the family, little guy.

He was all about the eggs.

Although he did like eating all the yolk mixture out first... :)

All the floors a table?

So several weeks ago we had Mark and JenaRae and familia over for dinner. We didn't have enough chairs, so we relegated the poor kiddos to the floor. Well, it stuck with Luke and he thought it was really cool and asked to sit on the floor for the next few days. Silly boy!
