Crazy Times

"It seems it's always the crazy times. You'll find you'll wake up and realize..."

Life has certainly been crazy lately. It's hard to believe that we're moving in just five short days. Luke and I have been downstairs going through clothes. I am happy to say that in that brief excursion and the four boxes we went through, three of those boxes are being donated. Yay for more space! Luke enjoyed grabbing anything within his reach (he was in the sling) and was pretty impressed when I introduced him to my old pal Benjamin Bear. I wish I had his reaction on camera. It was pretty cute. He also enjoying playing with a fabric bow that came with one of the beautiful bouquets of flowers that Andrew sent me while we were engaged.

Also, today is Luke's nine-month.... er, month day? Well, he's nine months old today! It's hard to believe that he's already that old. Before we know it, we'll be celebrating his 1st birthday. In a new house. Yikes. He's a great kid, and we're blessed to have him. I can't wait to see what things he will learn this month. I'd love to list all the things he has mastered over the last month, but I don't have time! Although, he's almost to pulling up, he currently wobbles on one knee while trying to get his other foot under him. Too cute. He's very efficient at crawling around (still army crawl, I wonder if he'll ever "really" crawl?) and sitting up and getting back down, etc. And, my favourite new acquisition was when he began to sign "more" last week on Mum Mackay's birthday (also known as Boxing Day, or the day after Christmas). We were pretty excited over that. I'm hoping to have a video of it up sometime, but probably not soon. I am not planning on blogging much at all for the next weeks, so don't be dissapointed at the lack of posts.

Anyway, so much for getting things done during nap time. I hear a baby who just knocked (threw?) his soother out of his crib. There went the other one...

Luke Hates Packing

I'd say this about sums it up... :)

Luke cries every time I tape a box shut. Maybe he's telling us he want's to stay here? Mean old Mommy actually set it up so that I could get this face on camera. Of course, when I did, I felt SO guilty... It's bad enough making him cry when I need to. Anyway I hope he gets used to the sound of tape. I think it just scares him. Of course, he's afraid of the vacuum too. Maybe because he's only seen it a few times in his life? That's like the mom who realized she simply doesn't vacuum enough when her two year old sees her vacuuming and excitedly asks, "Is Grandma coming over?"

First Blood

This was a while back when Luke was still shaky at sitting up. He wiped out and we saw our first blood. He was so sad... It was only a few drops, but I'm sure it seemed like more to him!

Peek-a-boo!

Luke thought nGogo was soooo funny! Peek-a-boo is such a neat game.

Where'd she go?

Where's Lukey?

There he is!

This is hilarious.

NGogo is too much fun! Thanks for playing!

Cousins

These pictures were taken a little more than a month ago... but they're so darn cute! Abe and Luke showed up to the church meeting one Sunday in matching clothes. Fortunately I had the camera.

Two very sweet little boys. You can visit Abe and his siblings here.

I laughed so hard...

This is a wonderful shot of my little boy laughing so hard that you almost can't tell if he's laughing or crying. The hint? It's all in the eyes (or les yeux as the french would say). Those are most definitely happy eyes. I wish I had an example of grumpy eyes to contrast it with. Maybe next time.

Go Leafs

Here is our little Maple Leafs fan in his Leafs attire. We found the sweatshirt when we were in Canada this past summer, which was awesome. Then, not to be outdone by Uncle Will's Mountaineer hat gift, Uncle Jonny picked up a Toronto Maple Leafs hat for the little guy. He seems pretty happy with the addition. Enjoy! I had a hard time getting him to sit still so we could actually see the hat. Crazy baby. He kept looking up and grinning at me. :) I guess I shouldn't complain about that!

We all love a good hockey match around here. My personal favourite is when the Pens play the Leafs. That way we have a good family rivalry going on! :) You'll notice... well, actually, you won't, cause it's cut off. Anyway, the bottom of his sweatshirt says "Just like Dad." Which is really cute. Now to get Luke some Penguins paraphernalia....

Fall

About a month ago a bunch of our friends and family went out to the pumpkin patch to select pumpkins for fall, take a tractor ride, play in a huge box of corn, etc. We decided not to go, but I was sad for the missed photo op. So, I went to Walmart and bought a couple of pumpkins and headed home for our own fall photo shoot in our front yard. I think we got some keepers. These are a few of the ones I like... It was hard to not put fifty pictures for this post. There were so many that I liked.

Our happy baby.

Hmmm... these look delicious!

A hand from above... coming to spoil the fun.

"No, no, Lukey. We don't eat leaves!"

I think he missed the point of the above lecture...

Poser. (That's Poser... not Hoser. In case anyone was wondering.)

Contemplating fall... and whether or not he can eat any more leaves.

He was very happy just to be out on the grass. Such a sweet boy!

This one is our favourite. He was just having a really good time.

Luke is a sweet heart! I think I love him a little more every day. He's learning, growing, and changing so quickly now. It's crazy how fast he can get into things! Plus, I don't like the fact that the fronts of whatever outfit he happens to be wearing are always dirty now. Is it possible to keep your floors clean enough that that doesn't happen??? (Those extra question marks were for Andrew. He does love it when people add unnecessary punctuation. I'm sure Gramma loves it, too!)

Seven Months Old

Well, our little boy is seven months old. How crazy is that? In the last weeks we've had so much fun. He's a joy to be around... if an active joy. :) A couple of weeks ago he fell forward from his still wobbly sitting position and busted his mouth. I don't think it would have been so bad if his soother hadn't been in his mouth. As it was, we saw the first blood from this little guy. It wasn't much, but his face was SO sad. He recovered quickly, but had a red mark around his mouth from his soother for a day or two. Poor baby.

Another first this week is squash! He wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but now seems to think it's wonderful! Daddy doesn't like what it does to his diapers, though!

Anyway, I'm planning to get some pictures up within the next few days. It's been a little crazy with computer issues. I have some cute fall pics as well as some especially for Uncle Jonny. :)

I'm off to play with a baby!

Enamored

Unfortunately not with me...

I finally caved and actually went to the library and borrowed a Baby Einstein DVD for Luke to watch. These last two weeks where Andrew hasn't been able to hold him have been slightly (okay, incredibly!) exhausting. I just wanted a few minutes to sit and breathe. Poor Andrew has tried to help me keep an eye on Luke, but he can't pick him up and that gets hard for both of us. If I put Luke on the floor and go into the kitchen, Andrew has to yell for me every time Luke gets close to the heaters or grabs the tv cables or eats our shoes or gets stuck under the couch or spits up or... You get the idea. It's been crazy, and I know it's been hard for Andrew to not be able to even hold Luke and I'm sure it's frustrating for him. So, I decided to see if he would sit still if we let him watch a baby program...

It was pretty cute. I think he enjoyed it. And, while I did get several minutes "off" I didn't really do anything but watch him because he was so darn sweet.

Faces of Lukey

Here are just a few of the expressions I see on a daily basis. I love this sweet baby. He brings a smile to my face every day. He's also helping me to get really strong arms!

All those expressions must have tired him out!

Playing with the gym... Sitting up

So, Luke officially mastered sitting up a few weeks ago. He now loves toys that can be played with sitting up... Here are some of him with the gym.

He's moved into such a curious phase... and now he can get around and get into stuff. Yikes!

Daddy feeds Lukey

Here are my two boys again... Daddy took the plunge into feeding Luke some cereal. They did great together!

I love the grins on both of their faces in this picture! Too sweet. I love my boys!
