Father's Day - a little late

So, this was Andrew's first Father's Day. Luke and I are awfully proud of him. He is a fabulous dad and the best husband ever. It's amazing how much having a baby changes your life. Little Luke has brought us SO much joy and also SO many sleepless nights. :) We love him. His personality is beginning to show more and more each day as he gets more communicative with his cooing. It's pretty funny/cute. I love to watch Luke and Andrew have a conversation. Luke obviously loves his dad and I get a kick out of watching his whole body smile in response to Andrew's antics. Too cute.

Andrew does such a good job taking care of us. He works very hard ALL day and then comes home and tries to help in any way he can. I appreciate his efforts so much. He was recently promoted to being branch manager which is great and it's wonderful that the "higher-ups" in his company see his worth. I'm proud of him for that. However, yesterday Luke and I went in to meet his staff there and I was even more proud of listening to them talk about my husband. He's been there less than a week and they had many glowing things to say about him. I'm glad that I married a man who knows how to appropriately handle responsibility in a kind way.

For Father's Day, one of the things Luke and I did for Andrew was frame some pictures for his new office. I need to get some recent ones of Andrew and Luke. But, for now, here are some of the ones taken to decorate Daddy's office... :) Okay, I didn't really frame this first one (or several of the others), but he's got such an angry face I thought I would share!

Luke and I love his Daddy and are so thankful for him!

Swaddling clothes?

So last week... or the week before?? Anyway, poor little Luke was exhausted and simply would not go to sleep. He usually sleeps on his tummy and does pretty well with that. We couldn't think of anything to do to comfort the kid. Finally, I decided to try swaddling him. He hasn't been swaddled since he was a couple of weeks old, however, it put him to sleep immediately! It was kinda funny (or at least, it is now...). "They" say not to swaddle babies regularly after a month or so (cause it messes with their motor development), but man, it was nice that night!

Gimmicks

This is the only way I get a shower these days! Thank heaven for the fish chair! Sorry for the sideways one.

More funnies.

Yet again I just found these interesting/funny.

Can you see the baby in the tree?

Luke definitely eats here!

A Few Quick Pictures

So, Luke is doing great. He's been pretty fussy since around three this morning, which I attribute to his shots yesterday. Poor baby. He's still keeping busy rolling over several times daily. He first rolled over last week... when he was nine weeks and one day old, from belly to back. He's actually looking like he's not far off coming from back to belly. We'll see how that goes.

But, here are a few photos from the last weeks. The last one is from my first ever Mother's Day. I'm still working on a few other posts, but I thought I would quickly put these up before they are completely outdated! We love our Luke!

Ten Weeks Old

So, Luke is now ten weeks old. That's really hard to believe. Also, he had his first set of immunizations today. :( Poor baby! He did well (apart from screaming in such a pitiful way), and calmed fairly quickly afterward, although he did keep his "cry face" for a while. Daddy and I had a hard time with it, but Luke seems to be doing okay. He's slept a lot more today and is fussier than normal but it could be worse. It's hard to try to avoid the outer part of the thigh on a baby cause that's where they're usually held, but we don't want to hurt him. But, people have been doing this for generations, right? And, he did have some nice smiles (some of which quickly turned into frowns or cries) for me this afternoon. So, he's sweet tempered even when he's out of sorts.

In different news, he now weighs 12 pounds, 12 ounces and is 24 inches tall. That apparently puts him in the 90-95th percentile for height, and the 80th percentile for weight. So, there's a reason that he fits nicely length-wise in 3-6 month onesies, but swims in the pants! He's growing very well and we're proud of him. Right now he's studiously NOT napping in his crib. He woke himself up when he pulled his soother out of his mouth about ten minutes ago, but hasn't made a peep. He keeps looking at me and hasn't put his head down once. He thinks he's such a strong, big boy! Okay, now he's fussing a bit so I need to rescue him.

I'll post some more pictures soon!

Mom out.
