Private Pool

We've gotten Luke's baby pool out a few times here at home. He LOVES it. It's pretty cute.

Lukey's New Bike.

I've been drooling over balance bikes since before Luke was a year old. Now that he's actually old enough for one, I've been struggling to justify the cost. Then I found a really cost-effective one and I am so excited. He just received it yesterday and is already becoming a pro. :) I love to watch him ride and hopefully it will be great prep for a two wheeler with pedals. Probably more to come on this later! Also, please excuse the messy house. Potty training equals Mommy doesn't do as much housework as she should! But he's doing great on the potty training front. :)

Children Obey!

Out of the blue last week Luke started singing this song in it's entirety. Before he had only said "Children 'bey!" over and over and over. I had no idea he knew all the words. Although, he does get confused and wants to say "honour your mother's day and father's day" sometimes. I guess he's still got Mother's Day on the brain! I've been trying to get a better video but haven't yet. :)

Christmas Bubbles

Bubble Wrap

One of the things we found to keep us busy on a cold winter's day? Bubble wrap. Great fun. I don't think you can hear the video too well, but he was having a really good time. You always miss the good parts when you get out a camera, but hey, I tried! He's such a funny little kid. I remember being so excited when Mom would let us pop the bubble wrap when I was little. She usually saved it, so we didn't always get to.

Lukey and Daddy on the Sled

Here is a quick clip of Andrew and Luke going down our little hill. We had a blast today playing in the snow. And, the bribery of a snack and special drink got the kid to come in without crying. Of course, he then threw a fit cause I wouldn't let him eat all the graham crackers he wanted... I guess you can't win them all.

But, we were each taking turns going down with him and counting. He loved yelling "Twoooo! Free!" but never "One." Oh well. I didn't get much of that in this grainy clip, but he does yell "two!" as they get started. He just had such a good time.

Lukey Jumps

This is the best video we have of Luke's crazy mad jumping skills. It's not the best, but it's something. :) He was running around with an old picture of himself, hence the "Give Mommy the baby" comment. Short, sweet, and it has a point. Bend the knees, jump! Enjoy.

Driving Home From Canada

Luke did so well in the car, really. It was long, it was exhausting, and it was hot, but it could have been so much worse. On our way up to Canada he did super well, and he did pretty well on the way home. It felt longer cause we were all exhausted from the festivities of the week. But here a few shots and videos of the happy times... Okay, these were taken right after a freak out session and I was trying to find something to make him laugh with. Sometimes it is crazy what kids think is funny.


Also, the car seat freak in me has to state that the car seat strap covers on his straps have since been removed cause I learned that they aren't considered safe unless they came with the seat and have been tested with the seat. It's funny the things you become passionate about in random ways. But we are now quite passionate about car seat safety! We're planning to keep Luke rear facing up to the limit of his seat and I have learned how to install it properly. Okay, end rant, and back to the blog!


I have no idea what is up with this picture... I'm pretty sure he's yelling "NACK!" while still chewing the previous animal cracker. No one who's met this kid would believe that, though...





Aunt Sue gave us a frisbee type thing that she got at the zoo and it turned out to be a lifesaver on the way home. Twisting it up and then letting it go equals big fun (and probably unsafe conditions for the driver... who was just talking about car seat safety???) for little boys.




And this is where Lukey learned to do it for himself. Sort of. :)

Lukey Talks with Grandpa!

Can I just say... Luke was so sweet with Andrew's dad. He loved being silly with him and came up with his own version of sign language to communicate with his grandpa. It was so fun to see him run up and sign to grandpa and then run off. I tried all week to get a good video, mostly to no avail. But this one show a little of his signing skills. :) His sign vocabulary is increasing daily and I can't wait until he can talk with grandpa "for real."

Gloves Quack?

I've been trying to get a video of Lukey playing with this glove for a long time. This one isn't that great, but at least it's there as a little bit of proof, albeit with prompting. This poor kid. I think we've messed him up for life. Long story short is, he has a little duck puppet. Because of that, he now somehow thinks that anything that goes on your hand should quack. The first time I saw him running around quacking with Andrew's glove on his hand I nearly died laughing. And then he did it while I was stuffing the insert into his diaper. Oh my goodness, it was so funny! So he'll quack for our oven mitts (or anyone elses :)), diapers, gloves, ANYTHING. Just makes me laugh.

Lukey Eats

Luke is eating pretty much anything we are these days (he was stealing bits of hamburger fresh from the grill a few minutes ago) and that's fun. He's a real trip. He's not yet that great at feeding himself anything other than finger foods. These photos show a little of that... :)


He was quite thrilled to get his hands on that spoon and get it right in his mouth!



He hasn't quite learned how to scoop. He mostly just taps the spoon on the bottom.


But he did get a few good bites in there.

And Oh. My.Goodness. This last picture just made me laugh SO stinkin' hard. I don't know what is up with his expressions lately, but he's had some good ones. This one takes the cake.... er, sweet potatoes. :)




We took a video of hand and face clean up because he's just so funny. He usually cries whenever I wash his face, and giggles whenever I wash his hands. Go figure. Also, please excuse the messy background!

Dancing and Guitar

Here is a brief look into how excited Luke is about dancing and guitar. He loves it when Andrew gets his guitar out and practically drools over whoever is playing in church. He's only recently started to sing a bit too, and it just makes me laugh. You'll have to excuse the mess of toys (how does anyone with children EVER get a video of a clean floor?) and laundry and whatever else is visible. :) I love to see Luke love music. Also, the flapping arms move is something his Uncle Luke would be proud of, I think.

Lukey Spins

Luke discovered a few months ago that he could spin around and make himself dizzy. He made me laugh so hard! I wasn't expecting him to learn to do that until he was quite a bit older, but it was too much fun when it came. He started spinning around in our family room and did it until he fell down repeatedly. He only stopped when he got so dizzy that he fell into a hard wooden chair. Crazy baby! But, here's some spinning fun. :)

Bubbly Luke

Here is our crazy baby playing with bubbles. He made me laugh so hard just because he was having such a good time. I don't think he understood why he couldn't catch them, though.

Long Hiatus... Plus a video.

I realize that I tend to blog in fits and starts. Well, here's another start. :) It's been an eventful month. I just downloaded the pictures from the camera and realized there were pics from Andrew's birthday. On the 11th of April. Oops. I haven't taken many pictures at all since then. So I shall endeavour to be better. Or something.

Anyway, today I decided to be proactive and take a few pictures. Here is a video of Luke saying a few of his words. His vocabulary seems to have simply taken off in the last two to three weeks. It's crazy. He has become a lot more vocal. Including mastering screeching. Yay. But, some of my favourites are "mumma," "dada" (although this comes out as "nana" and I think it's adorable!), "cheese," and "milk." He's just awfully fun these days. Even as I type he's running around the family room yelling and babbling.

I shot a quick video of him showing off a few of his words just a few minutes ago and thought I'd share. He was just sitting there saying "da da da da da" and so that proves that he can say "dada" but he still calls Andrew "nana." It makes me smile. I'll be putting up a few pictures eventually, but for now, here's our little guy.
